Special scheme of Digital Bharat Nidhi (Govt. of India, Department of Telecom)
In order to provide high speed internet and to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban areas by empowering rural household, rural entrepreneur and Rural Govt. institutions, DBN (A Govt. of India, Department of Telecom organisation) ie Digital Bharat Nidhi has launched the scheme of Free FTTH installation in Panchayat villages as well as other villages using Bharat Net (OFC to the panchayat) project.
The FTTH connection will be provided by BSNL. At present more than 79,000 villages have this scheme and the project is under execution to cover all the villages.
The rural Bharatnet FTTH customer will be paying only fixed monthly charges and the connection will be provided by laying OFC to the house hold/institution by BSNL free of cost (supported by DBN scheme).
BSNL has provided attractive plans giving unlimited data and unlimited calls. The FTTH connection will be serviced by BSNL’s authorized partner called as Bharat Net Udyami (BNU )
{ BNUs provide the last mile connectivity to the end consumer in the form of installation, service provisioning of FTTH connection and maintenance of the same. Any local individuals, and entrepreneurs, Self Help Group (SHG), Gram Panchayat (GP), firm, ISP etc. can become a Bharatnet Udyami (BNU) partner who have passion and energy to earn handsome income for themselves and at the same time serve their respective areas for its economic development including additional employment generation.}

Special Tariff Plan
Rural Entry Plan – Rs 259 per month for unlimited voice and unlimited high speed data is launched by BSNL. In addition, 30 months tariff plan of just Rs 5900 and Rs 9900 are also available only for rural area
